Your online source for Snowplows Minute MountŪ Snowplows Accessories Service Parts Service Questions Q; How often should I have my plow serviced? A: Once a year you should have your plow serviced and the best time to do it is in the early Fall. Q: Why then? A: Being a vented system water could accumulate in the reservoir from condensation. By doing it after the Summer you reduce the chance of any water in the system. Q: What else should I be worried about? A: Your grill connectors should be kept clean and protected from the elements. By making sure your connectors are either plugged together or have the plug covers on when the plow is off and full of dielectric grease ( Fisher part # 22400K). This keeps the water out prohibiting corrosion from forming and causing a faulty connection. Q: Should I cover my plow? A: It's not necessary to cover the blade but you should cover the head gear. Fisher has a cover (part # 26812) called a Plow Parka that will protect it from the elements. Q: Is there any maintenance for the blade? A: You should scrape off any loose paint and repaint bare areas. Fisher has paint for your plow in qts.- gals. and spray cans. You should also put a coat of light petroleum jelly on the angle and lift cylinders so they won't rust. Q: What should I carry in the truck when I'm plowing? A: You should have an extra hose, oil, cylinder pins, fittings, cotter pins and some basic tools. Fisher has an Emergency Repair Kit that has these items (with a Fisher knit hat!) and comes in a tool box with room for your tools. It is available for either MM1( Fisher part #22444) or MM2 (Fisher part #27930) systems. Can't wait? E-mail your question to us!
